Abstract
Abstract: The understanding of philosophy in Indonesia is like an outdated word which only dates to the grave. This paper is supposed to be not as a hardly philosophical defense, but rather a balancing effort against a developing understanding, by describing attempts that philosophy do in regard to overcome the theoretical realm to the practical. The discussions are about technology especially Artificial Intelligence and environment through ecology. The discussion was closed through a reflection on the picture of philosophy in Indonesia. The used method is philosophical reflection supported by literature study. The results are: 1) philosophy in technology, especially AI plays a role not only in the study of ethical issues, but also in forming intelligence that AI can contain 2) philosophy in ecology filling a gap in the form of holistic awareness as an antithesis of ecology by science that focuses on mechanistic and causality 3) Indonesia through its philosophy must find and voice its features towards the developing era. Indonesia has a great opportunity to develop its own philosophical systems and theories based on its characteristics.
