Abstract


Abstract: The purpose of this study was to find a significant relationship between independent learning and academic achievement speaks English. Research carried out by using correlational survey method. This study used a sample of 30 students were selected by random sampling technique. Meanwhile, the data collection is done by giving a subjective test in the form of an oral test to the student respondents. Once the research is done, then the results can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between independent learning and academic achievement speaks English. Based on calculations for the questionnaire, obtained ?2hitung  = 7,3, ?2table = 7,813, and the results obtained learn to speak ?2hitung  = 7,39 and ?2table = 7,813. While Fhitung = 0,69 and Ftabel = 2,45. Hypothesis test results for the relationship learn to speak English is thitung= 3,97 and ttabel= 1,70 and X1 ¹ X2 because thitung > ttabel and located in areas Ha, Ha accepted and then Ho rejected. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between independent learning and academic achievement speaks English.
