Relationship Between Emotional Intelligence and Learning Achievement of Class VII Science Students at SMP Budhi Warman 1 East Jakarta

Abstract


This study was to determine the relationship between Emotional Intelligence and Science Student Achievement. This research is a survey research conducted on seventh grade students of SMP Budhi Warman 1, East Jakarta. The population of the study was the worst grade VII students of SMP Budhi Warman 1 East Jakarta as many as 144 students. Samples were taken by using simple random sampling technique as many as 36 students. The instruments used are questionnaires and school test scores. Test the data analysis requirements using the normality test, linearity test, and one-way ANOVA test. Test the data hypothesis using the Product Moment correlation analysis technique. From data processing and hypothesis testing, it can be concluded that there is no significant relationship between emotional intelligence and science student achievement.
