Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

 

Author Guidelines

The editor of STRING (Satuan Tulisan Riset dan Inovasi Teknologi) welcomes article submissions in accordance with the following guidelines:  

  1. Articles have not been published or accepted for publication, or are being considered for publication elsewhere. In addition to the manuscript, a written statement should be attached which clarifies that the article is original and does not contain any elements of plagiarism.

  2. Types of articles suitable for publication include the following; research reports (laboratory, field, archives), conceptual ideas, studies, theory applications. 

  3. Another suitable type of article is book review.  Please note the following requirements for submitting book reviews:

    • books being reviewed should be newly published (within the last one year for books in Indonesian and two years for books in other foreign languages),

    • book reviews should be between 3-5 pages in length, and

    • a copy/ scan of the book cover should be attached. 

  4. Articles are written in Indonesian using academic language along with standard academic writing structure and composition. Manuscripts are typed 1 spaced in a quarto paper size (A4), between 6-8 pages in length including references, pictures, and tables.

  5. Article should be in form of essay which includes:

    • title (15-20 words),

    • author’s name (without academic degree) with an e-mail address and institution’s name,

    • abstract in English and Indonesian (150-200 words for each) which includes research problems, methods and results,

    • key words in English and Indonesian (5-7 words),

    • author’s personal information and e-mail address,

    • introduction (without subsection, 2-3 pages) which includes background, objectives, and literature reviews/ theoretical construct (if needed) of the research. The introduction section  ends with an emphasis on items to be discussed, 

    • Method

    • Result and Discussion,

    • Conclusion, and

    • References.

  6. Reference list format is based on IEEE (style. Reference list should appear at the end of the article and includes only literatures actually cited in the manuscripts.

12. The editor appreciates if authors excerpt information from previously published articles in Jurnal STRING (Satuan Tulisan Riset dan Inovasi Teknologi).

13. Articles should be submitted in soft files using Microsoft Word application to the Online Submission page. 

14. Authors will be sent notifications of the receipt of manuscripts and editorial decisions (whether the articles are accepted or not) by e-mail. Manuscripts that are not published will not be returned to the authors.

 

Online Submitting Manuscript Guidelines

The manuscript text must be submitted by one of two systems (second procedure will be preferred):

  1. Submitting document should be done by Online Submission System in the STRING (Satuan Tulisan Riset dan Inovasi Teknologi) portal HERE.

  2. First, the author should register as an author or reviewer (checking role as author or reviewer) in the “Register” or HERE.

  3. After registration completed, log in as an author, click in “New Submission”. The article submits stage consist five stages, such as:  (1). Start, (2). Upload Submission, (3). Enter Metadata, (4). Upload Supplementary Files, (5). Confirmation.

  4. In the “Start” column, chose Journal Section (Full Article), check all the checklists.

  5. In the “Upload Submission” Columns, upload the manuscript files at MSWord format in this column.

  6. In the “Enter Metadata” columns, fill out all the author data and affiliation. Following the Journal Title, Abstract and Indexing Keywords.

  7. In the “Upload Supplementary Files” columns, allowed to upload supplementary data file or the statement letter or other else.

  8. In the “Confirmation” columns, if all the data that you enter were right, then click “Finish Submission”.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6.  If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
