Abstract


Perilaku respon backchannel merupakan perilaku seorang penutur yang secara signifikan mempengaruhi keberhasilan komunikasi, terutama dalam konteks komunikasi lisan atau percakapan. Terjadinya perilaku verbal respon backchannel akan diikuti oleh perilaku non verbal respon backchannel. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi jenis dan fungsi verbalisasi backchannel serta perilaku verbal dan non-verbal respon backchannel siswa kelas XII SMK Atlas Cimanggis Depok. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan sampel berupa 9 data rekaman video. Hasil analisis data menunjukan 7 jenis dan fungsi verbal respon backchannel dan 7 klasifikasi non-verbal respon backchannel. Berdasarkan analisis hasil penelitian dan pembahasan temuan data rekaman 9 video, diperoleh data sebanyak 50 perilaku verbal respon backchannel menurut jenis dan fungsinya. Berdasarkan jenisnya didominasi oleh jawaban singkat atau tunggal respon backchannel yaitu sebanyak 40 respon. Berdasarkan fungsinya terdapat 50 verbal respon backchannel yang didominasi oleh 13 fungsi klarifikasi. Berikutnya untuk data perilaku non verbal respon backchannel, analisis data yang diperoleh berdasarkan perilaku verbal respon backchannel adalah sebanyak 39 dimana data didominasi oleh adanya perilaku non verbal ekspresi wajah yaitu 15 data
