Abstract
Abstract: This study aims to improve the short stories writing skills of student in X class SMA Negeri 35 Jakarta Pusat through partisipatori methods. The Research conducted in SMA Negeri 35 Jakarta by using the working procedures of Mc. Taggart and a spiral cycle. The results showed that the value in the first cycle that empirically maximum score can be obtained is 85 and the lowest score was 57. The average score was 70.5. In the second cycle that empirically maximum score can be obtained is 93 and the lowest scores is 70. The average student's ability to write short stories, namely 80.91. Based on these results, the researchers suggest: 1) the teachers should be always seek to improve their competence in teaching by using interesting techniques and the subject matters that are appropriate to the needs of students so that language learning give benefit the lives of young people today and future and 2) Students need to improve Indonesian language skills from all aspects, including writing because these skills can be used as a skill that can generate revenue.
