Abstract


The purpose of this study was to determine the extent of the influence of Science Process Skills and Scientific Attitudes on Academic Achievement of Grade VIII Students in Private Schools in South Jakarta. The method in this study is a survey with regression correlation analysis, which connects data that shows the Science Process Skills and Scientific Attitudes students have with the data shown by students' Academic Achievement. The Science Process Skill Data was obtained using an observation sheet which was assessed when students did the practicum, the Scientific Attitude data was obtained using a questionnaire compiled by the researcher. While Academic Achievement data is obtained by tests, where researchers get scores from subject teachers in each school. Hypothesis test results indicate 1.) There is a significant influence of Science Process Skills and Scientific Attitudes together on Academic Achievement of Grade VIII Students of South Jakarta Middle School. This is evidenced by the acquisition of Sig = 0.001 <0.05 and Fcount = 8.504. 2.) There is a significant influence of Science Process Skills on Academic Achievement of Grade VIII Students of South Jakarta Middle School. This is evidenced by the acquisition of Sig = 0.001 <0.05 and tcount = 3.567> ttable = 1.675. 3.) There is a significant influence of Scientific Attitudes on Academic Achievement of Grade VIII students of SMP Jakarta Selatan. This is evidenced by the acquisition of Sig = 0.039 <0.05 and tcount = 2.106> ttable = 1.675.
