Abstract


The aim of this research was to analyze the effect of cooperative learning model and learning independence on the mastery of Biology concept. The methods used in this research were survey and experiment with by level threatment, and the hypothesis test used was Two Way ANOVA. Experiments made in two different groups/samples treated (treatment). The first group was taught by STAD Cooperative learning model, and the second group by conventional cooperative learning model. Each group was divided into two categories based on level of learning independence (high and low). The research came up with the following results: (1) There was a significant influence of learning model on the mastery of the students' biology concept of SMP Negeri in Tangerang City; (2) There was a significant influence of learning independence on student learning outcomes of IPS lesson students of SMP Negeri in Tangerang City, and (3) There was an interactive significant model of cooperative learning and learning independence on mastery of students' biology concept of SMP Negeri’s students in Tangerang City. The interactive influence model were as follows: a) There was a significant influence of learning model on mastery of biology concept of students with high learning independence, b) There was an influence of learning model on mastery of biology concept of students with low learning independence, c) There was a significant influence of learning independence mastery of biological concepts on students taught by in using contextual learning models, and d) There was no any influence of learning independence on mastery of biological concepts of students taught by using conventional learning model.
